The Amazing Gospel of Jesus Christ

“For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God…”

~ 1 Peter 3:18 (ESV)

The Bible says that Jesus’ death on the cross has answers to the best life possible, and the fulfilment of our deepest desires and needs.

The Bible verse above says that Jesus died to take away sin. Sin is the term used to describe the ways our hearts and lives reject and dishonour God. The sin in our lives stops us from having any kind of positive relationship with God.

The Bible verse above also says that Jesus is willing to swap places with us. If we trust Jesus, the righteous (perfectly loving) one, he takes the punishment of God’s anger on us, the unrighteous (imperfect ones who deserve judgement). This is because God’s perfect justice means sin must be punished. Jesus took the place of punishment for our sin by dying on the cross. By responding to his death and resurrection, we take his place of freedom in new and positive relationship with God.
